Senior Population Expected to Double by 2040
Hey seniors, guess what? In the next 30 years there’s about to be a lot more of you in the United States and around the world. As progress is being made in health care, knowledge of aging practices and a wealth of senior services, Los Angeles seniors are living longer than ever. This could mean more people in your classes at the local college that caters to seniors, more people filling up the nursing homes where you reside, and more people filling hospital beds to receive treatment for the ailments and illnesses that can come with aging. It’s a great thing that you’re living longer, right? But what is society doing to make sure that with some 508 million seniors today; a number that is expected to double over the next 30 years in the United States, to make sure that a longer lifespan is a good thing, so you know that as you get older, you can expect a comfortable, happy and healthy life. At this stage, little progress has been made, and living longer should be a thing to be celebrated, and regardless of the senior population growth; we deserve to be rewarded for the knowledge and wisdom that comes with aging!
